The course provides students with essential lifestyle and behavioural attitudes for promoting sustainable consumption and production in their households, communities as well as organizations. It trains students to be responsible consumers, citizens, and social actors. It promotes skills not only needed to build a green economy but green society through sustainable lifestyle and responsible living. In classes are designed to engage and inspire students to learn by analysing local cases and international best practices in SCP. The course exposes students to the UNEP 10-year framework programme on SCP (10 YFP); a global framework of action to enhance international cooperation to accelerate the shift towards SCP in developed and developing countries.
The course, EMS 199: Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, shall be a Three (3) Credit hour Liberal Course, to be undertaken either in the First or Second Semester of Level 100. The course will be run by the University of Cape Coast.
